HuskyADAPT - Accessible Library Technology
There are many public libraries in Seattle but they lack technology that is on-hand and easy to use for everybody in the community. To address this issue HuskyADAPT has partnered with Seattle Public Libraries (SPL) and King County Library System (KCLS) to design and implement a new technology system that will be more accessible to wider audience.
My team and I plan to bridge the issue of accessibility in Seattle public libraries by understanding our users and designing a solution. Our mission statement was “Our team goal is to design and implement accessible technology into library systems. We aim to do this by creating an inclusive, adaptable, and user-friendly solution that lets libraries accommodate all individuals.”

Initial Plan
Given the project initially it was important to create a focus on what group of users would be the target of the new technology. We created our team mission for the project and began brainstorming ideas on what our technology could look like. For better insight we met with one of our partners who would help us connect with both Seattle Public Library and King County Library System. During the meeting I was tasked with taking and organizing notes which we used to plan our next steps of the design process. With the new insights our next steps are to interview users, tour local libraries, and begin to gather information to design an appropriate technology system that will benefit as many users as possible.
